Tom's Caramel Apple Fall Cocktail
Posted by Caron on Sep 29, 2023
One of my favorite cocktails that we have made every autumn season is called the Falling Leaves Cocktail. So yummy! Made with apple cider, cinnamon, lemon and vodka. This year, we decided to try and make something different after having been to a new whiskey tasting event at Heritage Distilling Company in Gig Harbor.
Especially since I am always looking for something to do with an abundance of fruit from our apple trees....
Inspired by the flavors in the Salted Caramel Bourbon Whiskey, Tom altered the original recipe and came up with his own version - The Caramel Apple served in our fun Compass Star Double Rocks Glasses. So delish, even better than the original Falling Leaves cocktail recipe.
Here's what you need for one cocktail:
- 1 3/4 oz. Heritage Salted Caramel Whiskey (or any other kind of caramel infused whiskey that you can find)
- 3/4 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
- 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
- 1/2 -1 oz. Apple Cider (depending on your taste buds and glass size!)
- Cinnamon
- Apple Slice
- Big Ice Cube
- Chilled Rocks Glass
Mix it Up!
- Pour Whiskey, Lemon Juice, 2 dashes of bitters and Simple Syrup into shaker filled with ice
- Shake Shake Shake
- Pour over one large ice cube into a chilled rocks glass
- Float (pour) apple cider into the glass (do not mix)
- Sprinkle Cinnamon on top
- Add a Cinnamon Sprinkled Apple Slice for Garnish
